I read it for the first time about 6 months ago and I have to say, I didn't like it at first but began to appreciate it more the further I read.
At the moment I'm reading "Anna Karenina". It's entertaining, robust prose. I love the whole section on the mowing and the hay-making. I'm in love with Levin as a character - I really want him to marry Kitty. I like the way Tolstoy plays with our perceptions of Oblonsky, Vronksy and Alexei Alexandrovich by showing us different facets of their characters. Nobody's black-and-white.
