This would be a superficial understanding of the term 'zikr' in the Qur'an. Remembrance of Allah encompasses Salah, supplication, our thoughts about Allah's power in creation, and all the times we reflect on our Lord. It is not a seperate thing from Salah nor is it a distinct form of worship. It is certainly not a hollow ritual repetition of words as commonly taken to mean.
