I haven't used the Western standard for critiquing Muslims. I've seen the very statements of Bin Laden in the media, quoting his own words. According to his own testimony, he supports the killing of civilians. One cannot fight for justice and political liberation by engaging in injustices.
If Bin Laden is not who he says he is and is merely a CIA agent, then why should you be praising him at all?
Either he's a terrorist, in which case he should be condemned (not for the sake of good public relations, but for the sake of Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) who commanded that if two groups of believers were to fight, the remaining Muslims should try and bring peace between them and if the aggressing party failed to cease doing so, then Allah enjoins the other Muslims to war against them.
Or he's not a terrorist and just some stooge, in which case there's nothing about him to be praised.
Anyhow, my-salafi-friend-who-claimed-he-was-an-ashari-but-didn't-even-know-the-basic-ashari-tenets, thats all I have to say for now.
