ANY extremism pisses me off.

My dad made a really good point last night. He said that in order for the world to stop shuddering and thinking of terrorism everytime they hear the word "Islam" we need some Muslims to get loud and start fighting back. Nobody seems to be fighting back. Moderate Muslims, as a whole (in my opinion) seem to be pretty passive and private people. At least I know me and my husband are... but dang it would be so nice if I turned the news on and saw a Muslim man or woman finally saying "enough" to extremism and trying to do something to stop it. Even if its just a simple protest by a huge group of Muslims in San Fran or something. I just find it sad that Islamic extremists have control of quite a few countries in the Middle East, and the one with nukes is now a big target for terrorists. Can you imagine a nutjob with a nuke!? Thats something I never ever want happening. Im extremely disappointed in how far Islamic extremism has gone. And im even more disappointed at how little it seems is being done by moderates to try to speak up and say its wrong.

If 1/5th of the world is Muslim and only 1% of that group is a terrorist, thats still an enormous number of people. Thats extremely disappointing and scary to me.
Irish, plenty of people protest/speak out/campaign against extremists, but they rarely publicise it. It doesn't make good headlines unfortunately. In order to keep our armies in the Muslim world our media has to show these people are all crazy and savage.
