I don't know a lot about it, but I am kind of worried about them. Chavez has been rolling back democratic institutions for a while now. He's also basically leveraging the country's oil wealth to fund massive social projects without careful re-investment back into the source. He's scoring big points with the poor, but it's un-sustainable. I know he's generally well liked on Islamica too, because he calls Bush a 'silly donkey' and stuff like that, and generally takes a hard line stance against anything American. But he's not really presenting himself as a very responsible leader.
