Just a little fact here:

In ww2 pacifist and conscientious objectors were in the US army.

They served mostly as medics.That way they could help in the war effort and not have to kill anyone. Many of them willingly joined the Army to serve as medics. Medics also had a very high casualty rate, they were considered some of the bravest soldiers.
