Broaden your scope a bit. This isn't just about religion in schools. This is about a creeping change in America's character that will increasingly affect many other issues such as business, politics, finance, family life, the public and private sector and so on, in the coming generations.

For a long time everyone had the assumption that America was a Christian, or Judeo-Christian nation, even though no such specification exists in the Constitution. Simply because the majority of the inhabitants practiced one branch or another of the Christian faith, and even though this majority has been here for a relatively short time - 200-odd years at best. Before that, America wasn't a nation to speak of, and who knows what the natives used to call it.

Whatever. The fact is, Christian settlers came, multiplied and changed the facts on the ground, and now history is repeating itself with different groups of people or ethnicities spreading in America. Hispanics are one, Muslims are another.

Why else do you think they call us the Fifth Column?
that's an interesting take, but i do support the seperation of church and state. we or our children shouldnt have to be forced to read the bible in school. of course we shouldnt impose our religion on other people too. but like i said, we dont have these problems in the city or in the city schools, these problems are occuring in the republican lily white suburbs. in the city of chicago itself, especially along the liberal lakefront of the northside, there is huge diversity, to a point even homo's live there haha. but in the republican lily white suburbs we have been having alot of problems. for example, they are building a new mosque on a suburb just north of chicago, on private land already owned by a islamic school run by one of the biggest mosques in the city of chicago. the local residents trired to stop the construction of this mosque and fought it in court to prevent a minar from being built because it 'obstructs thier view' and all this other nonsense. needless to say they lost the case but it shows how they act like in the suburbs.

and mind you were not some backwater hillbilly state. IL has the second largest Muslim population in america, standing at over 700,000 and the desi population in Chicago is only 100,000. throughout the state of IL, just Indians alone, not pakis, not bangladeshis, just Indians, stand at 100,000. from chicago to as far south as east st.louis. Chicago itself has THE LARGEST AFRICAN-AMERICAN MUSLIM COMMUNITY in america!
