The Chinese have made massive investments in building their deep-sea port at Gawadar. They're not going to let America threaten that investment so easily. I think if any serious incident happens between Pakistani and American forces, it'll be diplomatic maneuvering between various parties who have vested interests in the status quo that will settle things down, instead of resorting to escalating conflict.
