There's no catch. I've been doing it for ages now... and that's not the only site. Google "youtube videos download" and plenty will pop-up. A lot of them will try to get you to install their special add-on software. Ignore them. There's a lot of them that let you paste the URL of the video and you can download it.

When saving the file on my local hard-drive, I change the extension to mkv. VLC player (which is the greaterest player ever and has practically no overhead and can run almost any video file in any format *thumbsup* ) can run that video.
