Yea right, are you kidding me?

The ISNA lobby is a huge source of income for the hotels such as the Hyatt who host the convention. Don't believe me? Look at the restaurant in the Hyatt O'hare during late nights on ISNA weekends. Its packed beyond belief.

Alot of revenue comes from the macking scene.
of course- hotels won't shut something down that they're making money off of. but note how ventanas (that rooftop restaurant) is always closed during isna weekend- there's only so much they'll put up with. they also modify their menus to make it easier to sell to such a large/not white crowd. and they're not exactly happy (obviously this part's not a bad thing, alhamdulillah) about not getting much money off booze from the muslim crowd, which is a total moneymaker in the restaurant business. and even restaurants have their tipping point as far as staying open late goes- ever talked to a server at that terrace thingy restaurant isna weekend around 1am? they are not happy campers, in my experience. who knows though; maybe i haven't seen all the happy hotel and restaurant staff late nights at the hyatt.

so yeah, ultimately, hotels do it for the money, and they get it or they wouldnt be allowing isna to take place there. that's not what i'm talking about. i'm talking about the actions that cause negative perceptions of muslims. you can very easily get labelled when you're in a crowd of 30,000.
