There's nothing wrong with being 17, but how did you meet someone out of state and get to know him enough that you'd like to marry him?
Anyway, are you planning to go to college? Your parents might be concerned that you will forego your education if you get married, so you ought to think about how you will assuage their fears. Also, how old is this guy? Can he support you? If he is also a student, then you will really need family support, so think about that as well. Good luck
