Pamunkey Peace Talks (1623) - English poisoned wine at a "peace conference" with Powhatans killing around 200 or so in retaliation for the Jamestown Massacre
Mystic Massacre (May 26, 1673) - English colonists commanded by John Underhill (with Mohegan and Narragansett allies) attacked Pequot village and burned all of the inhabitants alive and killed the survivors (600-700)
English Massacre of Sleeping Village (1644) - NYers burned sleeping village and slaughtered about 500 Indians.
Paxton Boys (Deember 1763) - Pennsylvania settlers killed 20 peaceful Susquehannock in response to Pontiac's Rebellion
Yellow Creek massacre (April 30 1774) - Members of Chief Loan's family were killed by Daniel Greathouse
Gnadenhutten Massacre (March 8, 1782) - Nearly 100 non-combatant Christian Delaware Indians, mostly women and children, were killed with hammer blows to the head by Pennsylvania militiamen.
Chehaw Affairs (April 22 1818) - US troops attacked a non-hostile village during the First Seminole War, killing an estimated 10 to 50 men, women, and children
Battle of Bad Axe (August 1832) - Around 150 Indian men, women and children were killed in Wisconsin by soldiers under General Henry Atkinson and armed volunteers
Bloody Island Massacre (May 15, 1850) - 60 to 100 Pomo people on Bo-no po-ti island near Clear Lake (California) by Nathaniel Lyon and his US Army detachment in retribution for the killing of two Clear Lake settlers who had been abusing and murdering people.
Ox Incident (1853) - Unreported number of Indians were killed in the Four Creeks areas
Kaibai Creek Massacre (August 17, 1854) - Forty-two Winnemem Wintu men, women, and children were killed by white settlers at Kaibai Creek, California
Klamath River Massacres (January 22, 1855) - In retaliation for the murder of 6 white people and stealing of some cattle, whites commenced a war of extermination against the Indians in Humboldt California
Gunther Island Massacre (February 26, 1860) - About 188 Wiyot Indians, mostly women and children, were killed by white settlers in Humboldt California, during one of the three simultaneous assaults on the Wiyot
Bear River Massacre (January 29, 1863) - Col. Patrick Connor led a regiment killing at least 200 Indian men, women, and children near Preston, Idaho
Keyesville Massacre (April 19, 1863) - White settlers killed 35 Tehachapi men in Kern County, California
Sand Creek Massacre (November 29, 1864) - Militiamen killed at least 160 Cheyenne Indians at Sand Creek, Colorado
Yahi Massacres (1865-1871) - American settlers exterminated 200 members of the Yahi Tribe
Marias Massacre (January 23, 1870) - Americans killed 173 Piegans, mainly women, children, and the elderly
Camp Grant Massacre (1871) - Ex-Tucson Mayor, William Oury, a vigilante band from Tucson slaughtered Apache women and children while the men were doing their spring planting (more than 100 dead)
Wounded Knee Massacre (December 29, 1890) - 128 Sioux men, women, and children are massacred by US soldiers at Wounded Knee, South Dakota
