But today, it was a nice uncle.
There were some pleasantries, and then all of a sudden, he was like "Will you marry after you graduate?"
Me: Yeah, I guess. In a couple of years, maybe.
Him: But for now, you want to focus on your career?
Me: Yes.
Him: That's good. It's your age. You should settle down first before you think about marriage.
Me: Yes.
Him: There is no hurry. My wife and I were both done our Masters when we got married.
Me: Mm-hmm.

lol that happened to me at my friends wedding. she was a niqabi so the wedding was seperated, but still some of the sisters were wearing their abayahs and hijabs. i was the first one there so i had already taken it off..so it seemed like i was the only "modern bachi" there.
so the aunty specifically comes and sits on my table.

aunty: are you her friend?
me: *looking around: whose?
aunty: the brides.
me: oh yeah. she went to school with me.
aunty: i see so are you married?
me: no...
aunty: oh i see neither is my son. he is graduating this year. he was telling me 'ma i dont want to get married until i am done with college'
me: i see
aunty: yeah. he is very sober and nice
me: i see
aunty: is your mom here?
me: no.
aunty: oh see she left you here
me: no...my friend invited me..so i came..she didnt say anything about a family. oh, i see a friend. will be right back.

a few minutes later i came back only to see that the whole table was filled with aunties. even the chair with my purse on it. <.< so i went to the back of the hall and then a while later the aunty is walking near my table, pointing at me and talking to other aunties about me.....i dont know if she was asking or telling about me to the other aunties.
