Last time I was in NY I said something to my dad (not disrespectful, just that I was going to do something) and he gave me his scary big eyed angry look. I said "Dad, that doesn't work anymore, look I can do it too!" and gave him the same look. He was trying to maintain the look without bursting out laughing.

Although I don't recommend antagonzing your dad until you're well out of the house.
