Sometimes when a person is being for example racist you feel almost compelled to call them a idiot, but in cases where someone is trying to learn about Islam through the means available, then it becomes unfair to attack that individual especially when the thread was not started out of spite but rather in order to gain more insight. If the information in the thread was wrong, then people easily could just say X is wrong because of Y or go to X source to get X information so that you may understand.

we are not 10 year olds, we should be able to have a discussion on a topic even if its sensitive or controversial. I'm not asking anyone to respect a certain view but rather be tolerant and be able to express their views without resorting to slandering and attacking a person.

Its a shame that usually its the people whom actually have a decent amount of knowledge in Islam...and uh i'm glad that 3 or 4 people share the same view as me.

btw, I wasnt aware of a ignore option how does that work?
