Seriously however, save 50 per cent of your wages in a seperate bank account to your current account, then you won't easily over spend and go: "oops, well I'll make it up next month/week" because you won't. It's too easy to give up saving that way.

Yes if you want to buy a property, you need to build up a credit rating but you can do that without getting a credit card, get a mobile phone bill in your name and pay that on time and in full and you should get a good credit rating.
