Actually whenever I wear desi clothes for weddings/Eid etc they usually have sequins and embroidery on them. Most of the time they attract positive attention, like people (mostly women) will ask,"my, where do you get such beautiful clothes?" and often it will lead to a conversation about why I cover and sometimes they'll even ask questions about Islam in general. People are rarely perverts about it.
Any time someone is a pervert about it, it means he (or she? ) will likely be a perv about it whether or not you wear flashy clothes. I've had weirdos make comments on days when I look like crap and when I'm all dressed up (for a wedding or Eid). Often men in the west usually find hijab attractive/mysterious/alluring/exotic, they just don't say anything about it....only the pervs will. The point is, whether you are wearing flashy clothes or looking like you just crawled out of a hole, nasty sickos will still make comments. The majority of comments however are positive.

hmmm...I haven't posted for the same reason Chotoo mentioned. Hundreds, if not thousands of people visit Islamica on a regular basis (some of who are not even members) so we don't even know most of the people who see our posts. I don't want some random creepo seeing my pictures. On the other hand, I have tons of pics on my facebook but that of course is set on private to ward off creepy stalkers.

Hijab making someone feel more hot? That's funny. Maybe hot temperature-wise! I wore hijab because I felt it was the right thing to do (being obligatory etc etc) and I still wear it because of that but another reason is that were I to take it off, it would feel just like going out without pants on or something .
