Yes, but this is a start. I just hope there's as much emphasis to make it affordable as there is to get it developed.

You can get tested and then you may not have to use condoms. Unless you or your partner are suffering from HIV/AIDS then that's a different story and you can probably discuss alternatives at your local sexual health clinic.
