It's butch for a girl to WATCH MMA? hell there are plenty of female MMA fighters in Japan, Europe, and the US. If you don't mind me saying some are quite decent looking and actually put on skillful, intense, and entertaining fights.

I mean if you plan on going into a bar fight with a sword, I'm sure no one will mess with you, except the owner whose probably packing heat. The purpose is to train as if you're fighting another swordsman not some poor, unarmed civilian. Swordmanship, like archery and all forms of combat requires extensive technique. Just look at people who train in fencing and/or Kendo stick fighting. They have to learn how to parry, block, engage, etc.
