I don't think Islamicans 'don't get it' because they're stupid... but instead because it's almost incumbent on them not to get it. Islam says the idea is non-sensical, case closed. Whether you get it or not.

My world view make any sort of prohibition on that, and I have no trouble with the concept.

And the debates surrounding the Trinity for centuries didn't happen because it's a difficult concept to wrap one's head around. It's because sometimes religious people like to argue over minutiae.
