Its mostly old ladies who do that to try to look young again, but thats not what i was talking about. I meant how black pop culture frowns upon people who become educated and have professional careers for "talking white", "acting white", etc. Disruptive and violent behavior is glorified, and basically a big part of the black identity is defined by its relation to white culture and society. Theres an assumption that being educated and a professional is "white" and being an unemployed welfare recipient in an inner city project is "black" and people who cross those lines are committing a betrayal
Arabs and muslims have a different sort of inferiority complex, which comes from international issues more than cultural ones
