i guess bad company is like a smoke in the room, regardless of how hard you try to avoid it - when you leave the room you'll end up smelling of it.
the test of piety and taqwa comes in - when your around people and can still maintain your principles and piety - regardless of what everyone else is doing - then your getting somewhere
sitting and learning from a murshid/shiekh would most definately help.
