The cream itself isn't that harsh, it's just that when the accelerator is added, the bleach forms. If you add less accelerator like I do, what you end up with is a very dilute amount of bleach. Because it's so dilute, you can leave it on for much longer - it has enough time to color the hair, and doesn't damage the skin so rapidly.

I don't follow directions ever (only when driving). Anyway, I still burned my face. I don't know if my skin was just over sensitive that day or what, but my face got really hot and red. I had to go to an ol' school Islamican's mehndi that day too. I remember crying to Fooz over AIM about how my face was on fire. Plus I just posted it about the 20 minute thing and being careful because she's trying it for the first time and you just never know when you're putting chemicals on your face what's going to happen
