i feel really bad for the first child. after i read colapinto's work about david reimer a few years ago, i've become very uncomfortable with the idea of a parent or "doctor" imposing a gender role on a child who doesn't want that role.

i can't imagine what kind of confused, tortured life that first child is going to live if they continue forcibly changing his behavior like that.

i'm not saying my take on this necessarily aligns with any islamic ruling, i'm just stating my own opinion.
