Default Re: born in 1987?

when i think of 1987, oliver north and the whole iran-contra scandal comes to mind. all this after reagan bombed qadafi a year earlier in 86', killing his young adopted daughter. L.L. kool J was the biggest thing in rap at the time, and everyone was wearing those kango hat's that have only recently came back in fashion hahaha. plus i remember the stock market crashed like anything. ya drickle-down economics, vodoo economics. When reagan died a few years ago, i was reading some posts on yahoo and alot of people writing things like 'rot in hell pig!" loll hahaha.

and if i remember correctly, there were a couple of hijackings that went on too hahaha. the 80's was full of hijackings. I think there was an air India flight that got hijacked, and a PIA flight that was hijacked which ended tragically. If suicide bombings is the big news today, back then it was all about airplane hijackings lol.

and i remember starting the 7th grade, and transfering to jr. high in the fall of 87'.

then in 1988 general zia died in that helicopter crash and I remember my dad staying up late night watching ted koppel on nightline making a BIG HUGE deal about it lol. there was no live video from pakistan back then, all you had was a reporter on the telephone haha.

I remember alot of things from back then. Such as going to meena bazaar with all the families, freinds of my parents to the masjid out in villa park. And for reason i remember this, but going to the medina shriners auditorium for some pakistani singer named muhammad ali, because we went with a few other families as well, who were pakistani themselves, even if we werent. My dad was making a big deal about this singer to my mom lol. So ya i remember alot from back in the day, even if other people are too young to remember. I probably remember way more than they do, and that was my mistake for not realizing that b4.

btw purple, i was 4 in 1979, long before most of you were even born lol.
