P.S. Were you just PPD positive or did the x-ray show anything? If the x-ray was negative, they shouldn't force you to go on treatment unless you've been symptomatic. Official CDC guidelines for healthcare workers are PPD negative x 2 or if PPD positive, negative CXR, and no confirmed recent exposure, then no treatment unless symptom survey is positive.

P.P.S. If they have a problem with it, look it up and give them the reference. There's no reason you should take that treatment just so some pencil pusher's paperwork is in order. Or sic my school's NP on them, hehehe.

Well, not pulmonary tb....we were thinking it was abdominal tb...I had two abdominal abscesses....my culture showed mycobacterium...when I posted in the morning, we thought it was TB...but now (a few hours later), looks like it is non-tb mycobacterium. The patho attending will look at it today, and get back to me tomorrow to let me know what type of mycobacterium it is.
