Default Re: 10,000 killed in Burmese cyclone

thx for the spotlights on this issue

mainly the areas affected are areas already hard hit by economic turmoil.ppl living there are mainly farmers and fishermen. (except rangoon, business capital)
and by tradition they tend to live in wooden cottages/shacks/huts...(its helps coolen the hot weather in lower burma)..of coz they are the least safe building for a cyclone.

so far..i've not heard of any mosque casualties or any mishap in general concerning muslims.
and amng the casualty in rangoon, are mainly from the poorer district...that lack of concrete housings.

i'm hoping there will be some good out of this disaster.
since burmese buddhist are so superstitius...i hope they see this as a 'punishment' from their 'god/heavens' for the government's brutal crackdown of the protests last year. Basically this can be seen as the revoking of the 'holy' mandate from the God for the government. (whereas white elephantes are considered as a blessing mandate)

YA Allah madad
