Amphetamines/methylphenidates and caffeine are commonly used as study aids and to boost concentration. They also share many systemic side effects. They may not be natural but if they do not intoxicate or curb inhibitions at therapeutic doses, what makes them haram? Also, I've often heard that addictive substances are generally considered haram, has anyone heard proof of why?
