Default Re: Study Finds No Cancer-Marijuana Connection

Yeah, but probably 90% of the people who push for medicinal marijuana use really either a) want to use it recreationally or b) want to be hip.

I'd bet whatever cannabanoids are beneficial in marijuana can be separated from the main plant and THC. I wonder if everyone would be so excited about medical marijuana then?

Sure they're all different classes, but their uses- whether recreational or therapeutic- overlap.
While I've always wondered what the deal with caffeine was (I imagine it'd be based on intention?), I don't think comparing the two is very valid. You're comparing a bb gun and a howitzer. Saying the usage for amphetamines/methylphenidates overlaps is like saying the uses of warm milk and xanax overlap.

Aside from the addiction factor, marijuana is probably worse for you than most opiates.

Having said all that, iif marijuana really was necessary for a specific medical case, then imo it would be just as halal as an opiate would be for pain.
