You're going to be a cranky surgeon on less then 5 hours of terrible sleep anyway, might as well be comfortable

Shadha, keep an eye out on Craigslist and check out unfinished furniture shops and Goodwill (especially for things like tables/chairs which can easily be refinished). Also, check out international grocery stores for better prices on spices, lentils and rice than you find in the grocery store. Best of luck.
