The Exorcist was pretty scary at the time but when I look back it wasn't as bad. They made something like a remake which is supposed to be based more closely on the real story. They use the actual girl's name in the movie. I thought that was a bit more scary.
I rented The Shining once. Made me realize how far we've coem alone in horror movies and how desensitized our society is. I hardly thought it was scary but it was supposed to be the ultimate thriller of the time...
