I go to Columbia Heights (close to work and home). I consider it a trial from Allah.
Kidding - alhamdulillah, at least we have a decent variety of masajid to select from here.. I remember when there were practically none.
The quality of the masjids here drove me absolutely crazy when I moved back, but now I've kind of resigned myself to it.
Anyway, I checked out her webpage, & I think it's great this chick is running for State Rep. Doesn't seem like she has much of a chance, given that she's running with the Green Party (and has endorsed Cynthia McKinney for president
) but may Allah give her success, ameen.
