Typically, these kinds of cars are plug-ins. The batteries are bought from Tesla Motors, a company that produces a high-performance electric car thats about $100,000.

The batteries would and should not die out very quickly. This car uses a lithium ion battery, which is better and more powerful that nickel ion batteries that the Prius uses.

As for their charge time, No one knows but it could be around 3-6 hours.
