Lol awwww! Mine colored his hair once, but I like how he has a couple grays. I can't wait for him to get the salt n pepper look. I think it's sexy [yes I know, I really do have a thing for old guys].
I don't blame you, at a certain age, the salt and pepper look is kinda cool

Not to get into a Hadith battle, because we all know it's pointless to get into one with me, but I always understood that one to mean older men, who are visually old looking, dying their hair black. It looks stupid. Even on old ladies it looks stupid. It's such a fierce dark color, it looks unbelievably unnatural against a wrinkly aged face. But if the guy is still young, then what's the problem?
The Prophet (peace be upon him) always made a point for the Muslims to be different. Jews dye their hair black and so that is basically why... this is not meant to be anti-Jewish, it's just a matter of sticking out. He would do simple things to differentiate between the Quraysh as well... the exception is in time of war (in the shafi' school at least) . This is to give the enemy the impression that all those who are fighting are young.

Dark brown? Really? It does look black but I understand what you mean in photos etc. Mine has the blackest of black, which I hope our kids will inherit.
Ya, plus he uses a gel sometimes which I think gives it a darker look too. He told me used a dark brown dye at least and it blended in perfectly.
