Love in the Time of Cholera is awesome but will get you kicked out of masjid.

More plays: Hedda Gabler, The Doll's House, The Lady from the Sea...the aunties will have your head though, because there's going to be a lot of girls who suddenly stop talking about how much they want to get married.

Another old standby is a short story called The Yellow Wallpaper. Same warning as above.
