I think it might end up being aimed at the same demographic that buys Smart cars. Basically wealthy urban dwellers who are into trendy, weird cars, and are more interested in making a statement than they are in how far they'll get on one tank of gas/battery charge.

At the same time, it's important to look at the whole picture, the carbon signature from the production of the electricity etc. to get a good idea how much of a difference they're actually making.

But hey, I'm not down on it by any means. Making an effort to move away from petroleum is commendable.
