i guess it depends on your program. pharm students at my school skip classes a lot, but usually they listen to the lectures at home. the classes are huge, around 200 students, and they don't take attendance.. they have too much to cover to waste that time. occasionally, some professors give out pop quizzes or bonus points if you're there b/c they're frustrated with low attendance

i, on the other hand, belong to a grad program where each and every professor knows your name and who you are. i can't afford to miss class. plus, grad students have to maintain a 3.0 to graduate.
