When my wife shows my pic to her friends, they are like "he's a typical molvi/mulla". Add bombard her with questions like:

1] Does he let you go out
1] Does he allow you to go to your inlaws.
1] Does he laugh with you.
1] Are you sure he does not eat babies... (okay I made this one up)

And it really makes me worried about these stereotypes and the divide in our ummah. Thanks Allah that He made me strong enough not to take such remarks to heart, but their frequency is alarming.

And when wifey answers their questions and tries to tell them how mashaAllah our relationship is, they dont fully believe her even.

But yeah, her remarks are understandable.
