she'd wake up in the middle of the night, say 3 am and proceed to complain about one thing or the other.

3 am:

daadi: the servants these days...they have to be supervised over every minute detail...

me: maa, no one said you have to supervise them. why don't you just sit on the other porch and read your quraan in peace?

daadi: YOU DON'T WANT ME AROUND!!!

me: maa, can we please discuss this in the morning. it IS 3 am.

haha once the whole household with the exception of my daadi went somewhere (she didn't want to come), we came back home to my daadi playing dead
so cute! reminds me of my daadi she used to say the same thing.

and now i catch my mom saying stuff like "haan haan maar do mere ko, zaroorat khatam hogayee na zindagee se!" (translation: "yes yes why dont u all just kill me? u dont need me anymore in ur life!") lol. its funny and cute, they get all tantrumish hehe.

i used to love it when my daadi wuodl yell at me cuz it was just sooo cute. shed want me to dress up like they did in the olden days with one loonng braid, made up all the time, etc. and i would just laugh, shake my head, and walk away and shed be like "i see, the new generation, just ignores their elders when all they want to do is see their girls dressed up and pretty!"
