i know all i do is complain lately, but today was wretched.
1. the airline that lost my bags a week ago also managed to accidentally cancel my return ticket to get me back to school. an hour of coaxing airline employees ensued.
2. i had to go through a "random security check" where they took little sheets of cloth doused in some chemical and wiped them all over my shoes, coat and laptop, and then stuck the sheets in a machine (to test for WMD's?) they even "randomly" checked this old woman in a wheelchair who obviously had Parkinson's. wtf?
3. rode back home on a train full of raucous drunken white people (sunday morning??? i guess it's st. patty's and stuff but still. isn't it easter or something?)
4. returning to my dorm, only to find that a pipe had burst on the floor i live on. my entire room smelled like distilled urine with strong notes of cigarette smoke.
5. aforementioned pipe bursting resulted in damage to my printer/scanner/copier, which i'm now afraid to plug in for fear of electrocution. that thing probably cost $300.
6. the custodial staff took certain damp items from residents' rooms and placed them in separate rooms to dry out. everyone else's stuff is there, but unfortunately, my bedding is missing, along with some sweaters and my towels. i complained to the office of housing and they "don't know where it went"
7. ummmm. crisis involving a guy. i'd rather not go into detail. i called him (long-distance) in attempts to reconcile, and ended up being told by his mom that he was sleeping.
